About Counselling #01

What to expect from therapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are often referred to as the 'talking cure' - a place for you to talk and be listened to. A counselling session is a regular, allocated time for you to take some time out of your everyday life to explore your inner self; a space where you can verbalize your thoughts and express your feelings in a safe, confidential environment.

My aim is to listen to the client to understand what is important for them. To explore difficult areas in their life working alongside the client to perhaps enhance their self-awareness and see issues from a different point of view.

Initial consultation
We will have an initial consultation to look at how we might work together. I will go through a series of questions to understand what brings you to counselling and whether it would be beneficial for you. Then we can agree to carry on with further sessions if this is what you would like. Sessions are weekly, 50 minutes long and currently on a Thursday afternoon.

How much will it cost?
The initial consultation and subsequent 50 minute sessions will be £50 payable immediately after each session at the reception
