Training and Experience in Counselling

I have been interested in the area of counselling for just over five years and studied at Roehampton University gaining a BSc in Integrative Counselling, meaning that I work based on a variety of approaches.

The psychodynamic approach
Looks at childhood developement and previous experiences and how they can affect our present actions and behaviour perhaps creating repeated patterns in our relationships or life of which we are not consciously aware.

The person centred approach
Focuses on the relationship between client and therapist where the counsellor uses the three conditions of empathy, genuineness and unconditional acceptance to ensure a safe space for the client to work and explore their thoughts and feelings.

I am registered with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) through the member organisation the UPCA (Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Associatiion) working towards accreditation. For their website CLICK HERE
